Fortelock: Resistance to chemicals and liquids

Choosing a floor covering for your garage, workshop or commercial space can be a real challenge. You want a floor that is durable, resistant to impacts and scratches, but also to chemicals and various liquids.

Fortelock PVC tiles meet all these requirements and offer you a reliable and high-performance flooring solution.

Resistance to liquids

Fortelock tiles are not waterproof, but they are designed to minimise the infiltration of liquids. In the event of a spill, it is important to wipe up the liquid quickly to prevent it from seeping into the layers below. The unique AirFlow channel system on the underside of the tiles helps to wick away moisture and aids drying.

If a large amount of liquid has seeped in, it is possible to dismantle the affected area, dry the substrate and replace the tiles. This intervention does not affect the functionality or quality of the floor in any way.

For better resistance to liquids, it is possible to glue the tile joints with a special cold PVC glue. This option is particularly recommended for floors in the Invisible and Business series.

Chemical resistance

The Fortelock floor is also resistant to chemicals. Brief exposure to oils does not damage the floor, unlike concrete floors for example. However, it is advisable to wipe off oils and other greasy substances quickly in order to avoid colour differences due to chemical reactions between the PVC and the oils.
